FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why not nubuck leather?
Based on popular request, the EquiFlow saddles have been manufactured with a standard "flat" leather you would find in traditional saddles.

How is the EquiFlow Different?
There are many Tree-Free saddles in the market, that look so similar!  Tree-Free riding is an age old concept, with some modern day comforts.  The EquiFlow is designed for the comfort of the horse and rider in mind.

There are no hard parts to the saddle, avoiding pressure points and discomfort.  Despite being treeless, the Equiflow saddles do retain their shape.  While they comform to the horse, they do not "collapse" and fold on the horse's back.

"Traditional" styled panels assist in weight distribution and shock absorption.

How do I care for the saddle?

Any standard leather cleaning and conditioning product will do.

Where should the saddle be placed?

When placing a tree-free on your horse, the SEAT should be directly over the portion of the back where you naturally sit when riding bareback.  To do this, the pommel should be slightly over the shoulders.  Since the saddle is flexible, there is NO shoulder restriction in movement.  The conformation of each animal is different, therefore the placement of the saddle may change.  As long as the seat is over the natural bareback spot, you are fine!

How do I know the correct seat size?

Aussie saddles generally run 2" larger than western and 1" larger than english.  So, if you ride in a 16" western, the 18" Australian will be good for you.  The Australian does have a deep seat, so larger is better than smaller.  With the Icelandic, your standard english sizing will work.

How long until I get my saddle?

While we are working out demand, there is currently an 8-10 week wait.  We may have what you want in stock, so feel free to check.

What about pricing, does the low cost mean low quality?

Not at all.  With many brands of saddles, pricing is determined, among other things, by how many channels it must go through before reaching the consumer.  Many times, these levels include the factory, parent company, distributor and finally, the retailer.  Lori's Tack has connected directly with the factory that produces these saddles, cutting out the middle men to bring you factory direct pricing.

Recommendations:

  • As with all tree-free saddles, we suggest the use of an insert pad, such as the SKITO OR GRANDEUR SADDLE PADS
  • For your horse's comfort, always use a mounting block or aid
  • Any dressage girth is compatible with the Barefoot or EquiFlow Saddles
  • For your feet, we recommend the comfort of  E Z RIDE STIRRUPS
  • For barefoot horses, we highly recommend the BOA HOOF BOOTS or OLD MACS BOOTS

HAPPY RIDING!
